Thought for the Day

Today's thought has to do with Communincation
Some people talk simply because they think sound is more managable than silence.

I tend to chat a lot more when I'm nervous but it's a weakness I'm learning to curtail. :-)

I'm a blabbermouth, but at times, the quiet of a still night in the high mountains can be perfect.

Very well said. It doesn't always take words to communicate with someone...

That's probably what has been a nemesis of mine as long as I can remember and most likely, chased a few guys away over the years too. I have a tendency, when in a situation where I am nervous, that any silence then becomes terrifying to me and I end up chattering on and on about absolutely nothing and boring the hell out of people. Probably do the same thing when I write (talk) too.

Dear ask an RN:

My wife is pregnant. Although it is a wonderful event, it is not proving to be such a pleasant process.

Is there a medical treatment that will help me to maintain my sanity as a man?

Can you prescribe something for the crying? Yes, I mean for me since the wife is no longer allowed medications.

I think as a young woman this describes me...but as I matured and found 'Mr. Right' words became less important. We can go for an afternoon drive and hold hands and not say a word for an hour or so!

Some days I love silence and others I love music playing...loud! lol

There's a saying, "God gave us two ears and one mouth so we could listen twice as much as we talk." It's so true. Some people talk too much and you can't get a word in edgewise.

Good post!

Cheers,
Josie

so true... but thats also how you find out what ppl you should spend time with - those who you feelk comfortable with even during silence, and don't feel like you have to say something just to break the ice... akwards silence is always too long!
