What a surprise!!!

The other day I was telling you that for Valentine's Day hubby and I and his parents were going to go to a fun night with their power squadron group. It was a casual evening, pizza and raffles and live entertainment. What my mother in law and I didn't count on was what was to take place after dinner.
Apparently, my in laws enjoy Barber Shop Quartet . Each year they go watch international competitions. The group that performed for us has competed at many of those competitions. Anyhow, father in law along with hubby thought they would have this group come and serenade us at the dinner. As you can see from the folks behind us, I think they enjoyed it as well.
I think they sang about 4 songs to us. Afterwards we had our picture taken with them, and were presented with a long stem rose and a valentine card from our sweeties. We were very surprise to say the least. For someone who didn't want a big deal made out of Valentine's day...this certainly was a surprise.....Thanks again guys....hugs....

That is so neat! Do you like Barbeshop Quartet? The barber who use to cut my boys hair when they were little sang in one and I had mentioned that I enjoyed that music once when the boys were in for haircuts. The next time I had an appointment to take them for their haircuts, he had his quartet there and they sang while he cut my boys hair. It was awesome! Glad you had a good time! Hugs

How very sweet of your husband and father-in-law to do this for you two. You both look so nice enjoying the serenading. And, long-stem roses!!! I'm so jealous. I didn't even get a "Happy Valentine's Day" from my husband so I didn't speak to him for about 30 hours! Do you think he got the message? Not!

Hope you have a great day today, dear friend.

well now that was a sweet little treat i must say! while you were sitting there listening to them did you happen to think where i may have left odat's diary? don't tell her but i still haven't found it. i thought i might have left it here in your comment box. sigh... meloncutter must have gotten his piggy little hands on it and now there is no telling what he will say. odat says she's not mad at me, but you never know, do you? what songs did they sing? anything by the beach boys? or elvis? what about a little mick jagger ditty? well, at least i hope they sang something good anyway. and how was the food? not a mention of it you know. being old and (somewhat) plump, i like to know about the food. was there dessert? chocolate? there must have been. i mean valentine's day without chocolate is like cupid without an arrow, right? that's what i thought too. do you have any meds i can have? i think mine are off a little today, what do you think?

smiles, bee

I must say that was a pleasant surprise. As we say on this side of the pond: The dot above the i. Let me guess, they song something from The Barber in Sevilla:))

By the way, the Opera here in Oslo will play that from end of February. I'll try to get tickets.

PS. Love your swimming hole.

=^.^=

That sounded like a totally AWESOME surprise to me! I love music of just about any kind ('cept Rap type) and anything that has really good four-part harmony really ROCKS in my book! I'm especially partial to the bass parts as my Grandpa had a beautiful bass voice and hearing music where the bass voice comes through just brings back lots of warm and fuzzy feelings to me.

Saw your comment on Jeni's page about the time change. It does go forward in BC on March 11 as well as some of the other provinces. It was on the news a couple of days ago.
