The other day I was chatting with my sister. Her daughter is expecting her first child next month. I asked my sister if she knew of the names they had chosen and she didn't but was anticipating the name of the child to reflect a traditional name.
It got me thinking about my name. I always wondered how much thought my parents had put into coming up with my name. I've never really been terribly fond of my first name, my maiden name was as difficult to say as it was to spell. Then I got married. My last name then became easy to spell but awkward for people to say. I get more jokes and teased about my married name than I ever did with my maiden name. Then I got divorced and remarried. I have not taken on my husbands last name as of yet. But boy we have fun when we combine his last name with mine. People just look at us in disbelief and say...were joking.
Anyhow, I've been hearing a lot of talk lately about "Goggling" your name to see what you find out. Well one of the things I found out is this. There are 16,498 people in the United States with my first name, and 4,710 people with my married. And when I combine my first and last this is what I get....

There are 4 people with my name in the U.S.A, but none if i throw in my middle as well.
When i put my name into google i just come up with blog posts! Nothing else exciting.

There are 524,945 with my first name and my last is the most popular last name 3,017.684. Cna you guess what it is? Both names 5,281. My 6 month old grandaughter is the only one with her name, Jerzie Shea!

A girlfriend of mine from high school sent me that site to search how many others there were with the same name as mine. Guess what? It says there are several million with the first name of Jennifer but that I am THE ONLY one with my last name. Now, I know that to be false becase a cousin of my ex-husband did a family tree study and he has a daughter with the first name of Jennifer and the last name is the same as my ex-husband's and I've even come across it in several e-mail searches. Go figure!
And - as to the e-mail - instead of my typing it in here, if you go to my profile, there is a place there that says e-mail - just click that and it will bring up my regular e-mail address. Eliminates the potential of my mistyping it or anything that way. E-mail and I'll tell you the "rest of the story."

As for my 1st name, apparently there are none in the US with that name.
My actual surname is probably misspelled; I have that on good authority from people who would probably know. But we're used to it and we're not changing. And there are still a handful of people in the U.S. with that last name and one in Canada. Only one (my brother) is actually related to me... and that's an entirely different story.
