Hark the Herald Angels sing...

Here we are preparing for another Christmas season. Along with those preparations comes moments of reflection which brings back both good and not so good memories for many of us. This post I would like to focus on some of the fond memories. In a previous post I shared with you, my Santa collection and told you the significance they held for me. Well, as I was doing my daily house chores today I realized that I also have a little collections of Angels. I am not sure how this collection got started but it has. I would like to share them with you. Each angel has a story behind it....I will share the memory of a few of them with you.

The two angels and baby Jesus were gifts. The angel on the left is the angel of "Remembrance" this was given to me by my ex mother in law at the passing of my mom. The one on the right is the angel of "Healing" my dear girlfriend gave that to me when I was sick. The little baby Jesus was made by my daughter. I treasure these all very much.

The Angel on the left belonged to the girls great grandmother. It now is a family heirloom.

This Angel was one of my sisters. She collected angels. When she passed away her husband gave all of us one of her angels on Christmas eve. The ornament beside it is one I gave to my mother. It just seemed appropriate to have them close to each other. There is a story about Eileen's Angels but I will save that for another post.

These two lovely angels are actually candles. They hold little tea lights and when the are lit up the stain glass glows so beautifully. My hubby bought these for me on our first Valentines together.
Again these were all gifts. The ones on the left and right are made of granite, Douglas's boys gave them to him for Christmas, the little one in the middle was given to me by one of my sisters as part of my Christmas gift one year and the one in the back was also given to me by another sister. I am a lucky woman to be surrounded by so much love.

Your angel collection is lovely. Are the first 'angels' from the group called "Willow Angels"? We gave hubby's grandmother a Willow Angel last year for Christmas and she loved it.

You are a lucky woman indeed, but so deserving of the love bestowed upon you by your loved ones! Hugs my friend!

They are lovely.
I wish I had room to display christmas knick nacks...I don't have any place to put nice things these days.

Sigh.

Ohhhh, you have a wonderful angel collection - I bought a Willow Angel just last week, for my granddaughter - the "love" sign language one. Her daddy taught her to sign a few things a year ago - and love was the first of course! Thanks for sharing your collection.

I agree with the others.. your angel collection is beautiful. And so full of nice memories for you, too. the one from the girl's grandmother will be sure to be passed down from generation to generation.

You are the angel here on Earth -- an angel of mercy. Your patients must love you as we do.

Isn't it funny how -- with time and memory -- originally unrelated things become "collections"?

Very nice pictures and explanations.

What a lovely collection you have, my favorite one is the slender angel in green, playing the flute, and what a lovely story you've shared with us all, :-)

I love your angel collection. I too have a collection of angels, although I didn't realize it until now, in fact I have one of the little stone angels in the last picture. I bought it in Killarney Ontario and I keep it on the boat.

Thanks for stopping by my Blog. I adore Skittles and her work.

Come by anytime.

Mike said you wanted help changing the color of your background? I see you've already changed your text color, so it's almost the same. Go back to the template page where you changed the text colors, find the part for text background, pick your color :)

What a nice collection and what makes them even more special is that they have a story or memory behind them. A true treasure for you.

You are truly blessed to have such great friends and family.

It's actually spelled "herald", not "harold", but don't sweat it. Those things are beautiful.
