Herring season just started. It only lasts for a few days..but while the herring are running the feeding for the birds is amazing, and it truly is a site to behold....

I saw so many eagles as I drove though Qualicum on Sunday. It always surprises me to see them standing around on the beach.
These pictures are so cool. Thank you for sharing them!
Great pics of the birds in your vicinity - especially the bald eagle! And, where did you ever find the cool bird feeder anyway? I love that one!
You are right, spring is on the way. It seems to be coming earlier this year than last year. I have a Junco story on my blog about planting day last year. We called it the Junco Wars. We are heading back to Powell River tomorrow. I can't wait to see what birds and critters are back at the cabin. -- Margy
No bird here. I notice there a few bulbs poking though the ground under my front window
We've been getting a lot of birds here too but mainly doves, crows and starlings. I can't wait to see my first robin, then it will mean Spring has arrived! lol I so love your pictures, wonderful close ups of those gorgeous birds. I could sit there and watch them all day long. xox
I can't wait until we have some birds here! It was above zero today, but we still have a lot of snow.
Awesome photos! I love your feeder - that is so neat! I want one now hehe My dad does wood carving, so I'm going to tell him he needs to make me one hehe. The bald eagle is awesome!!!
What a gorgeous little finch and I'll bet he had a voice to match. Wonderful photos Mary Anne!
great pictures! love the quail
the purple finch are beautiful. I especially like the last photo - they're at opposite ends of the feeder and the female looks like she has a lot to say :)
the feeder is great!
and you're keeping up with the piano - that's great. Soon you'll need to make a recording for us.
What great photos! Spring hasn't arrived here yet. :(
