I have this pattern that was given to me years ago for a scarf. It's kind of cool..it's one of those
that you increase your stitches as you go along...then you knit parts where you have three needles, which end up making a hole for the other part of the scarf to come through...it's kinda of neat....I will show you when I am done. I should have finished it last night...but at 2345hrs. when I was on my 3rd time of taking off a row of stitches, I knew it was time to put the needles down and go to bed. I'll try it again today.I have been trying to catch up on all of your blogs. Gosh you all have been so busy. Isn't summer fun...all the great outdoor things we get to do. I was reading at Lisa's blog that she was just recently in my neck of the woods....checking out my stomps ....it's great to hear how others see your home town.....sounds like she had a really good time....wish I could have met her for coffee....maybe next time.
Then I was reading at Beckie's about her daughter and the amazing things her young daughter is able to do. This then brought to mind my amazing husband. Ok...I know I talk about him, but just bear with me...just when you think you know everything about your spouse you find something new, and so was the case today. When I was over at Beckie's place leaving a comment I had mentioned about "genius" Well, it appears I live with one. I mean I always knew my hubby was a very bright man. But you know he is one of those guys that you would never think..."wow that guys a genius".....and yet on an almost daily basis in his very casual nonchalant way he demonstrates his intelligence. Here is what I found out about him today. My hubby was a high school drop out. He tells me he found school so boring. I roll my eyes and say...yeah typical teenage attitude. But in his case it might have been true. When he was in grade 7 he was told he had the comprehension of 2nd year university student and a vocabulary of a 1st year university . The board of education had him review books for their curriculum. Hmmmmmmmmmm......and here I am not even able to spell some of the simplest of words. He is my walking and talking dictionary....let me tell you it is very common around here whilst I am typing on my blog to be asking....."hey honey....how do you spell....." and without hesitation he can tell me. Gosh I am so jealous. I have known that he is a
very talented man...I have seen him at work on many projects.....intructions...what are those.....this is a man who can take a boat engine apart and rebuild it....this is a man who loves to dismantle computers and rebuild them....his spatial capabilities are amazing. I don't mean to go on about it...but it really just blows my mind some days. It's like taking something for granted.....it's always been....so it will always be...until one day you stop and you think....wow...that or he in this case is one smart cookie.I am sure you have all met or know of someone like this.....their an interesting breed that is for sure.....and just so I don't make him sound so perfect.....he just was reading this over my shoulder and he told me to mention that it is a rare breed that is not only intelligent but good looking......dear god what have I got myself into......I think this is where I should post a picture of him doing something completely idiotic.......
Have a grand day all!!!

I have one of those.. sort of.
Mine can't spell worth a damn, but he can do most anything. As you know, he's building a root cellar, the chain saw took a fit and then so did he. I heard the cussing and then the saw flying through the air, followed by a rock. lol
Does your guy have that kind of temperament?
I was going to do a whole post on this but he said "Don't you dare" as I was taking a photo of the saw laying in the middle of the yard.
ok im totally jelous of your hubs.. i never have had that kind of inteligence.. and spelling ugh.
Sounds like you got yourself a keeper ;)
....and pleased to meet you too, (I followed you back from Australia). :)
Your overtime, is that like our double shifts? 11pm to 7am....then back for the 3pm to 11pm, followed by the 7am to 3pm....pink elephant zone!!
Plain old hazardous.
Your pics are beautiful, family, surroundings, so natural and fun. The little sharks are funny.
Pam
Janet....actually hubby is one of the most patient men I know...yes he cusses...oh boy can he cuss...but no he doesn't toss or anything like that....just seems to find the patience and perserverence....something I so am lacking...
Wolfbaby....spelling...urgh is right...if he isn't around....spell check in my saviour...except for when it comes to leaving comments...I don't get any help there....just blame it on typo's yeah that's it...typo's...
Pam...thanks for dropping by...overtime for me is anything above my regular full time shifts....I work 12hr shifts 4 on 4 off...if they want me to stay after my 12 hr shift...yes the is overtime....if they call me into work on my days off that is overtime....anything out of my regular schedule is overtime....
Tammy....yeah he's a keeper...but boy he can be tempramental at times....nobody is perfect....even if he thinks he is...tee hee...
You've been keeping yourself very busy! Ironing??? *UGH* I don't know how to knit, but I can crochet up a storm!
Your husband is amazing and definitely a keeper!
I gave you a little award for your participation in the game I made up. :)
Does he have a brother"
Ha...!
I know someone like that. Very, very bright, very sweet and devastatingly sexy. Trouble is, he doesn't know I exist. *sigh*
Cheers,
Josie
It's always the unassuming ones huh?
Oh man, I've got ironing waiting for me but I procrastinate (how's THAT for spelling? lol) until I have nothing left to wear! Sounds like you're one lucky lady with that cutie patootie who can even spell. :D
When my older daughter still lived at home, the little ante-room by the bathroom constantly had the ironing board and iron set up there. (Not for me, but for the daughter!) Now, younger daughter and I have no clue as to where the ironing board might be and I think the iron is in storage in the cellar way. Shows how much use those items get here, huh?
As to your husband, you go ahead and brag on him to your heart's content - sounds like you've got a gem somay as well tell us all about him, don't 'cha think.
About the scarf - any possibility you can e-mail the pattern to me? I love to knit or crochet - not an expert for sure -just have to be in the mood for it though. But I do like to make scarves and that's one type I don't have a pattern for.
Oh we definitely need an idiotic picture!! hehe j/k
IRONING pillowcases?? Are you mad woman! That was actually my job when I was younger - my Mum liked her pillowcases crisp and ironed. I swore I would never do that when I grew up! hehe :-)
Yes - it has been crazy busy around here lately! Thank goodness the move is taken care of for us,(the actual packing and loading) or I would require some hefty medication! We'll be heading back your way on the 24th! I can't wait to smell that wonderful ocean air again! :-)
My grandmother (mom's mom) ironed pillowcases and her husband's UNDERWEAR!! :)
Happy Thursday!!
I've MWM doing the ironing since he retired, well everything except my stuff - I wouldn't trust him with my stuff!
MWM is everyone's 'phone a friend' on quizzes - what he doesn't know isn't worth knowing! My Dad calls him 'smart arse' - it's a term of endearment!
RN, the schools often fail the brightest among us be going at the pace of the slowest students, making it boring. But I didn't need anyone to tell me your hubby is a genius. He married you, didn't he?
oh you are such a flirt TC....thanks for your comments...cheers...
:-)
