With winter strongly wrapped around most of the country with flooding on the Westcoast and snow storms on the Eastcoast, I thought it would be nice to show a little Spring. This picture was taken from my front window last spring. I was looking out my window when what should arrive at my flower box but this beautiful Butterfly. I wish I knew the name of this butterfly, do you?If you would like to join in on the fun please check out Misty's Musings

Boy, I would sure love to look out my window right now and see that picture. Don't you think this is being a brutal winter?
Oh wow, that is a framable picture! How delightful to see something like that on such a miserable day!
I love the pink colors. Beautiful...

It looks to me like a Swallowtail Butterfly even though I can't see the tip at the base of the wing on this side. We had lots of them when we lived in LA. You can take a look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papilionidae
Margy....I think you might be right...before I posted this picture I did try and do some research and I saw the Swallowtail...but they seem to have a very distinct tail to them...and I can't remember if this one did...I know I have one more picture of this butterfly so I will go take another look....thanks for your input....
Oh, isn't this beautiful! I'd love to look out my window and see this, rather than many feet of snow!
Hope things are good with you.
My great-aunt, who lives in Lake Cowichan (not sure where that is in relation to you), just had a mastectomy done for ca. breast. She is 85 and has CHF as well. Apparently the surgery went well and she's doing fine.
Imagine - at her age!
Perfect pic - just what the doctor ordered for the winter stretch we are getting in to...
Thanks for stopping by to visit me. I really am enjoying your blog and am going to stop over at your other blog. I love your humor. The "mirror, mirror on the wall" was written for me.

It was melting here today and the sun was shinning down around here today.
Coffee is on.
Beautiful!
