Today we celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada......Hubby and I will be celebrating with his family. His sister and her children will be joining us as will his brother and his wife and two young boys. It should be a lovely gathering.
It's a bit strange for me not preparing dinner as this is something I have done for the past 15 years and I really enjoy it. I love all the preparation, the decorating, the smells in the kitchen while the turkey is cooking. Oh I am going to miss that. I volunteered to make a vegetable dish and some dessert, so I made a squash puff a pumpkin cheese cake and some pumpkin cookies. I have also volunteered to make an appie....by no means is it a traditional Thanksgiving dish but I made these about a month ago and they were a big hit and I was asked to make them again...what are they you might ask.......egg rolls.....yup egg rolls.....you know there is nothing more tasty than a fresh homemade egg roll. They can be a bit finicky and I have opted to make a double batch but they are well worth it in the end.
It's almost 0900 and I have many things to do before noon when I told mother in law that I would be over to help set things up for dinner.
I wish all my Canadian friends a very Happy Thanksgiving....and my friends south of the border a wonderful Monday and hope your week starts out well......

We had our big dinner yesterday, so today is leftovers!!! :-)
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
I'm wishing you a "Happy Thanksgiving" here for your holiday but also, after having read your Vacation Report Part II, for all you went through to get your hubby to the hospital and that all went well with that procedure! Boy, you sure don't believe in calm, quiet and peace on your vacations do you?
Here in the states, we're celebrating a holiday today too - in honor of good old Christopher Columbus and his 1492 sailing ya know!
Have a great day today and lots and lots to be thankful for, huh?
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. x
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well. I have enough turkey for days and I love it!!
Happy thanksgiving!!! have a wonderful fun filled day:)
Happy Thanksgiving. Ours down here will be another month or so away. I'm looking forward to this years as I missed it last year due to surgery. And yes, pepsi is much better than coke. I always thought coke was too syrupy and flat, not crisp and bubbly like pepsi is. Have a good time with your dinner.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too my friend...a day late! lol I'm enjoying some leftovers today...nice not having to cook:-) I just read Part 2 of your vacation...I love how you all did so many adventurous things but my goodness, what a scare when your hubby dislocated his shoulder!! OUCH! I'm glad that he finally got it fixed up but I can imagine how in pain he was. Loved all the pictures, so much excitement:-) xox
Hiya RN! Sorry it took me a couple days to get back to you. Happy belated Thanksgiving to Canada!
