Well I don't know that I pushed my envelope but what I do know is that I took myself on a lovely little adventure yesterday. I awoke and was up and at it early. After dropping hubby off at an appointment I decided I wanted to venture off to this park that I have not yet visited.
I had no idea what to expect. But what I can tell you is that I was not disappointed. It was beyond words. The air was fresh and crisp. The birds were flying overhead, the seagulls making their calls. The eagles in their nests perched high on the tree tops. Oh I wanted to drink it all in.
Have you ever had one of those moments in your life when the beauty just encapsulates you and just takes your breath away? That is how I felt yesterday. I really can't find the words to give my feelings flight. I had my camera and I will try and give you a pictorial view of what I was blessed to see.

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.....they also say that the best camera is in your mind. As I look at these photos now, although I think they are lovely, I don't believe they do the park justice. But what I saw yesterday is etched into my mind forever.

The best reminder is in your mind, but these beautiful photos will always help you remember to think of this day!!
:)
I'm glad you had fun RN. I love the pics (as usual)! The next to last one is my favorite.
"they also say that the best camera is in your mind"
I love this bit and am often disapointed with pictures I make of wonderful surroundings and they just don't do justice. These pictures are very good though and seen through your descriptive eyes, they were a real treat!
:)
You know I kinda of like the picture of the log....it reminds me of a baby elephant holding onto something with it's trunk....do you see anything in that picture?
It's amazing how fortunate we are to live in such a beautiful part of the world.
I'm honestly thankful each day that I live here.
Beautiful pictures,beautiful words.
Great photos! I see you live on the Wet Coast as well!
What a nice outing.
It looks so beautiful out there.
i loooooooove that beach. we spent a week 2 summers ago up there-best family vacation we ever had.

Yeah! I do see the elephant! I wonder what he is holding?
quilt nut.....Rathtrevor is only about 15 mins from where I live...so I can go visit it as often as I like...hubby's work is 5 mins. away.....I can't believe it took me so long to go there for a visit....I am addicted to it now...went there for a run yesterday morning.
I can see why you would have loved camping there...the campsites are beautifully maintain and large and lots of play areas for the kids...never mind the beach and all you can explore....
That 'moment' you describe came to me a few years ago on Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, when I looked across at the while sand little 'motus' (islets) across the lagoon and said to my wife: "It literally does not get better than this." I still hold that thought. The Comox Glacier with the sun breaking on it early in the morning as I look out my front window is pretty close to that, however. Nice piece.

Just keep on posting these photos of the world around you. Sure are beautiful to look at and do lots of wishful thinking about wanting to see them up close and personal.
Having not seen it 'in person' I can not attest to whether the photos do justice to the beauty there.....but the photos are simply beautiful and let's us visit and see what we're missing!
The log reminds me of a mountain sheep or ram....to me it looks as if the curly thing sticking out is part of it's curved horn....
Great post....thanks! Hugs, my friend!
Hi RN. The seagulls are not as good as your usual offerings for my lunch, but they'll do in a pinch. ;-)
Great pics, and I'm glad you had that kind of day. Sounded like you needed it.
Mary Anne, I have spent many happy hours at Rathtrevor Park, camping, swimming, sunbathing. Believe me, your pictures do it justice. They are gorgeous photographs. How lucky you are to be living on Vancouver Island. My heart is still very much there.
Now, when are we going to get some summer?
Cheers,
Josie
beatiful pics!!! what a wonderful place. I wish I could have been there to see it!!
reminds me of a time..pre kids when I had a car and nothing to do....
I made a picnic, grabbed a book and headed down to Spanish Banks and sat there all alone and just enjoyed the scenery, my book and my own company.....
it was cleansing.
Isn't it wonderful to go someplace like this all by yourself and blend in with nature!
What a wonderful way to spend some time. I think the picture with the mountain in the background is my favorite, although I love driftwood, too. Nice that this picture had both. :)
I know what you mean about those moments of beauty.
Me again!
You've been TAGGED with the "Seven Random Things About Me" meme!
OOoo.... beautiful pictures! Wish I was there too. Your eyes see beautiful things and you captured the mood at that moment well.
I absolutely love Rathtrevor! My mother-in-law lives close by, between Coombs and Parksville and I'm looking forward to spending many a day there this summer with the kids!
We were in Qualicum and Parksville for a wedding on May 2nd. It was wonderful to see the flowers I was quite homesick and we have so many friends there. We are now trying to think of ways we could winter there and summer up here in Granisle.
