By the Light of the Silvery Moon.......

The other evening while I was laying in bed I noticed how bright the night sky was. I looked out the window and saw the moon. It shown so brightly through my window that it was like having a night light on. It was such a photographic moment. Hubby got out the camera and these are just a few of the shots he was able to get......

A picture says a thousand words....and I know what songs and poems come to my mind when I look at these photos...does anything come to mind for you?

Cheers all, and have a great day!!

I'm lazy! Even though I promised photos of it by the time the clouds had cleared I wasn't in the mood for dragging out the camera, about 2 am night before last.

What setting did you use to get the face of the moon so clearly? I've been trying for a long to get my very own.

A full moon always makes me think of the Wolfman movies I used to watch as a kid. Nice pictures btw. Do you use a regular digital camera or is it a high-end piece?

The camera is just your regular digital Sony 12x optical zoom 6.0 mega pixel. The setting was "twilight". Yes we did get up it was just after midnight here when those shots were taken....

Gorgeous photos. I think we saw that same beautiful moon from our room at the ocean. It was breathtaking!

Awesome photos!

It brings to mind a nursery rhyme

I see the moon,
The moon sees me,
God bless the moon,
And God bless me.

Mary Anne, those are the most beautiful moon pictures I have ever seen. A picture does indeed say a thousand words.

I have a book of Emily Dickinson's poems, and this is one of my favorites:

The moon was but a chin of gold
A night or two ago,
And now she turns her perfect face
Upon the world below.
Her forehead is of amplest blond;
Her cheek like beryl stone;
Her eye unto the summer dew
The likest I have known.
Her lips of amber never part;
But what must be the smile
Upon her friend she could bestow
Were such her silver will!
And what a privilege to be
But the remotest star!
For certainly her way might pass
Beside your twinkling door.
Her bonnet is the firmament,
The universe her shoe,
The stars the trinkets at her belt,
Her dimities of blue.

J/K, it's very very awesome. Not too many can get good shots of a night sky, your husband is very talented!
