I don't know what to say. The wonderful comments left on my blog have almost left me speechless. Such thoughtful and kind words of encouragement. What a wonderful community of bloggers I belong to. Did you notice I said "I belong to". It is true I can't stay away, and to be honest I really haven't. I have been reading most of your blogs and I see our dear friend Cathy was suffering from similar feelings as I was experiencing. Hmmmm......I wonder if it is the time of year? What do you think?
Anyhow my friends, I am back. I have read everything everyone of you said. You are all right. It is my blog, I should say what I feel good bad or indifferent. If people like what they read they will come back, if they don't they won't. I will continue to write from the heart. Whether I am writing about it being a good day or a bad day. I shall write what comes to me and that I feel I want to share. I think that is what I heard all of you saying. Write what you feel!!! Again, thank you all for your encouragement and support!!!
So, winter has arrived on the west coast. It started on Saturday. We had just gotten over those terrible wind and rain storms and then the cold front came in. It's not as cold as Alberta or the northern parts of the province. But it is cold for here. It was -12 Celsius overnight and started snowing again this morning, they are predicting another 6 cm. of snow then freezing rain. Urgh!!!
We started putting up Christmas lights on Saturday. I guess the change in the weather put the Christmas bug in me. I had just gotten off of nightshift that morning. I slept for about 2 hrs and then got up and spent 7 hours decorating. You all know what I am talking about. You go to put something up and you end up taking something down and then you have to clean and one thing leads to another.
I collect Santa's and these are a few of my Santa's in my collection. The majority of the Santa's I have, have been given to me as gifts. I don't know, there is just something so jolly and peaceful about them. To me they exemplify everything that Christmas is about. The meaning of giving. The bearing of gifts from the heart. The welcoming of people into your home. I think that is why I choose to put them where I did...the entrance to my home. I want people to always feel welcomed when they come to my home.

I thought hubby was very brave to go up the slippery ladder to mount the star. But bless him he did and I think it looks wonderful!

Oh, I am sooo happy (jumping up and down with glee) that you decided to not take a larger break! The photos of the decorations are wonderful and have brought a smile to my face and a lift to my heart! I can't imagine who would not feel a warm welcome when visiting your home! Just chatting over the internet through blogging, you are able to make others feel your warmth and the welcome that you extend! Thanks for being you!!!
OH Martie.....
You have just made me cry......tears of happiness...thank you my dear friend!
MaryAnn,
I was so relieved when I saw you pop up in bloglines. Your decorations are beautiful. I can see your sweet self just shining through this post.
Thanks for hanging in there. We'd miss you terribly if you stopped blogging.
((hugs))
YAY!!! I have been checking here EVERY day since you said you were leaving. I saw you had a new post and I called out to hubby, "She's back! She's back!" Then I had to tell him who ;)
I love your Santas! And the house with the STAR. Beautiful :)
I'm so glad you're back!
glad to see you back...I need your photos!!!
The decs look great
Thank you for not leaving us. How does it feel to be loved and missed?
Your Santas and decorations are fabulous. Your house looks so beautiful at night.
Welcome back. Great pictures!
I like your santas too. Your outside pics turned out better than mine did. Taking outdoor pics in the dark isn't an easy thing to do. I'm glad you are back also. I think the weather from your side is coming to the midwest where I am. It was 66F today here but supposed to be cold with snow by Friday. Happy Blogging :)
Good decision to stay. I am a friend of Skittles. I'll be sure to visit more often.
Oh...I left a comment on your proposed departure post, but I guess it got lost somewhere. No worries.
Here's to success!
Nice to see you back! I think the snow has made everyone feel better - my daughter, husband and I were just talking about that - it's so bright and pretty out who could be depressed? It even puts me in the Christmas spirit - present shopping in November - ME???? Never - I always wait til the last minute - but I'm half done already :) and thinking of decorating tomorrow! Your outside lights look great - and I love your Santa collection.
Welcome back.
Welcome back. Your house is lovely.
I knew you couldn't stay away from us!! hehe Really happy you decided to continue blogging...just always remember what we all told you! Your Sants are just gorgeous...also love the lights on the house, it all looks so very welcoming:-)We have no snow left over here, been raining the last couple of days...can't wait for it to snow again so that it looks Christmassy!!
Mary Ann, good for you... you stayed. You would not BELIEVE the experience I had with another blogger. And I am having a very difficult time forgiving. I would rather beat the person about the head and neck with a rolled up newspaper, and believe me, if I could I would. And I almost closed my blog afterwards. But just as in the "real" world, you will find trashy people in the blog world. Garbage in, garbage out.
Your blog is lovely and you have a lot of blogger friends who are very glad you stayed.
Doesn't this weather make you feel Christmassy (is that a word?)
Cheers,
Josie
I'm here by way of Skittles too. Don't worry 'bout skumbuckets who want to rain on your parade. Keep blogging and be yourself. I am definitely writing my blog for me. I don't have the fancy calendars and counters and polls like some of these people and I choose not to link up to everyone because I want my blog to stay small in unnoticed.
Do what makes you happy, seems like you have a lot of friends in Blogland who will miss you.
PS-the house looks gorgeous. We don't get snow in AZ so your house looks like the North Pole to me.
I'll tell my girl Debo Blue to stop by too.
Welcome back!
You have been TAGGED with the "5 Favorite Christmas Songs MeMe". Go to Sunflower for How to Play with a MeMe. Enjoy!
Mary Anne, I was so happy to read this post from you! I think we all get down from time to time and just need a bit of a break.
I would miss my friends so much if I quit blogging.
Your house looks wonderful and the snow is beautiful! We must be having the winds here in Ohio that you had. Today we had gusts up to 90mph. It was horrid out. Ealier in the week it was almost 70 degrees F. Now it is back in the 30s and freezing.
Welcome back my friend!!
Hey I tagged you. You'll have to stop for a visit and read what you need to do! ;)
