Sky Watch Friday

These photos were taken in late February at a lake 10 mins from my house.  It's called Horne Lake.  It is very popular in the summer, but now a lot of folks are making it their homestead.  Horne Lake is well known for it's camping, fishing and the caves where you can explore by yourself or on a tour.

If you would like to join in on the fun please check out other wonderful skies at Sky Watch Friday

What a pristine lake--must be a wonderful place for boating and maybe climbing the cliffs along the water's edge. Really enjoyed your perspective for that last shot. Did you lie on your back under the trees? :-)

I love the pretty puffer clouds (<-- meteorological term, lol) in the second photo, and the shot looking up into the tall trees is wonderful! I don't know if you took this on a windy day, but that photo gives me a real sense of motion, like the tree tops are swaying in the wind.

I'd love exploring the caves!

A beautiful spot. Does homesteading mean they have bought the land, or just "camping" on a permanent basis? - Margy

Margy...what a lot of people orginally did, was put their motorhome or trailers on lots that they had purchased at the lake..and use it as a summer get away. But nowadays they seem to be building up their lots and living in them year round.
