Life has been hectic as I am sure it has been for all of you. Our boys arrive tomorrow so I have been busy try to getting the final touches on wrapping gifts and organizing their rooms and just general Christmas stuff. Hubbies recovery is going very well. He is just amazing me. He is a very fast healer. We were at physio on Monday and go again today and he is getting great range of motion with his arm. I am so happy. I on the other hand am not doing as well as I had hoped. I met with my employer and the powers that be on Monday and we decided that I should stop my gradual return to work and not try to come back until the New Year. My shoulder is starting to show signs of impingement, but what bothers me the most is my spine. I have pain up an down my spine and am getting numbness in my finger and great toe...all just to weird. When I saw the physiotherapist on Monday she did some mild traction on me...and ever since then my spine has been killing me...I actually took hubbies pain killers yesterday and basically vegged on the the couch....that is sooooooooooooooooo not me. I am more mobile today, I was to see my GP but he called in sick today so they had to cancel all of his appointments and now they are not open until the New Year. Living in a small town there are not many options available to me at this point in time. I asked to see another doctor but they are all booked up. My only option it would appear is to go to the ER but it is not that bad and it is not an emergency, but I do feel as though I need a xray of my spine and possibly at CT scan, but it looks like that will have to wait until the New Year now. So much for that.....
I am so excited about our boys arriving tomorrow. I want to do one last baking which I will do today, and then I think I am done. We got our tree the other day....and you know.....I love it....it is much smaller than I wanted....I mean it's not the 13 footer that I am used to...but we are anticipating a lot of people on Christmas and didn't feel the larger tree would fit........so here it is our 2007 Christmas Tree.....
It would have been nice if there had been snow outside. We did have snow off and on yesterday....our weather has been so odd this year. Our boys are travelling from back east and we know how hard they have been hit with the winter storms, we are being optimistic about their being able to travel tomorrow.
One of the things I collect, are Santa's....this year I added two more......here is what I have done with my Santa's this year....

Your decorations are so beautiful. I love the tree trimmed in blue. I hope that you are not in pain over the holidays. All the best, I enjoy your writing!
You sure know how to get ready for the big day. Everything looks so festive and beautiful. I notice your granite tables and wish hubby would have let me get them in my kitchen. My counters are very similar in color, but "fake".
So hoping you find some relief from the pain in your shoulder and back.
Happy Holidays to you and your family from, your friend in Colorado.
I'm glad your Husband is doing better. Have a great visit with the boys!
I'm glad to hear your husband is recovering well although I'm so sorry that you've still been having such a rough go of it. I hope you can get to the bottom of it as soon as possible. I empathize having been through some similar issues in the past. I've had a lot more options though in terms of doctors and fast scans during my diagnostic phase. I'm sorry you have to wait until the first of the year.
I love your Christmas decorations. Very lovely. I hope your children make it home ok. I'm sweating the weather a little too since my daughter has to fly home from where she's in grad school in the midwest (U.S.). I'm in the southeastern U.S. and all we've had so far is a few flurries but she's in school in Iowa and has to change planes in Minnesota, both of which looks iffy for Saturday.
Hopefully all of our traveling children will be home for Christmas.
Take care, Carver
Mary Ann - I'm so glad to hear your husband is healing quickly but the news about your issues is really distressing. Hope the figure out what's going on there and soon then find a good plan of attack for it.
Loves the pics especially the nativity and special candle in memory of your mom and sister. I have a couple little things that are "memento" type things that were my grandparents and I know how you feel about things like that seeming to bring their presence back with us then.
Oh, I'm happy to hear hubby is on the mend but gosh, I'm so sad to hear of your misery. An x-ray and a CT scan sound ideal as that would probably reveal as to what the heck is going on... this is just dreadful news for you.
Your Christmas tree is beautiful... oh my, beautiful is an understatement... it's stunning! I've always been attracted to the blues. I think that big blue box on the right has my name on it... *giggle*.
I hope your visit with the boys is a pleasant one. Please stay safe.
Happy holidays to you and your family!

Your tree is beautiful as are the rest of your decorations. I hope your pain goes away so you can enjoy Christmas. Good news about your hubby's recovery. xx
It's difficult not feeling well over the holidays and unfortunate that you don,t have more options for medical care. Stay well and good luck
So glad to hear Hubby is healing well. You must take care of yourself and let the kids do the heavy work on Christmas. I know what a bad back can be like (I had a disc and bone growth removed over 20 years ago and now more bone spurs have developed) so I have to take it easy. That's why it's brisk walking instead of jogging for me. Have a good Christmas and I hope all the kids get there safe and sound.
Beautiful!
I know I haven't been by in a while...
Stopping by to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Blessed and Prosperous New Year.
later...
